Can't check the news that often if I have to study, work on assignments, do some maintenance on Zohar, post at the board, reply E-Mail...
France was pursuing its own economic interests as their relationship with saddam's regime was good and they had like a monopoly, as not many countries had business with Irak. The French government opposed the war mainly for this reason, and they threatened countries that will be joining the EU that supported the war, like they owned the EU (fortunately they don't) and everybody had to be in their side. Libert?, ?galit?, fraternit?, sure, libert? to say what France approves, that is.

But by being selfish, they would of saved lives. And in the end, that's all that matters.

IRT Wiseman: Lol, interesting time to switch sides. Just as Bagdad is falling. However, your third reason for switching is very... (how can i put it?) American. One of the more noticeable features of the USA is that they push other countries around and when others fight back, the US fight backs harder, claiming a moral case. Kinda like a bully.
I guess that ain't really the case here. Either way, i'm glad you're on the just side now.
Down with Saddam!

Well, you cant really blame France for pursuing their economic interest. Thats how a capitalistic system work. i also think staying out of the war for oil is much better than blasting cities and killing citizens to get oil in the name of liberty.
btw, US should take my dad's advice: Come up with just one good excuse and stick with it.

Nope, I don't blame France, I was just pointing that out. All systems work that way, not just the capitalist. The difference lies in the capitalist system allowing you to be free and have your own stuff, properties and business, depending on how hard you work and how useful is it.
